Landscape Architecture is more than simply the aesthetic complement to our civil engineering projects.  JMT’s transportation planning and design projects benefit from our application of "Context Sensitive Solutions" which integrates our projects into the surrounding communities, meeting the projects need while being sensitive to the environment.  JMT applies Environmental Stewardship wherever possible, often enhancing past degradation of the environment, providing benefit to the communities with which our projects co-exist. We provide “Best Practices” expertise regarding pedestrian and bicycle safety issues, greenspace and trail master planning, and design of open spaces.  Our landscape architects even provide site layout and details for school athletic facilities. These capabilities go beyond the more traditional streetscape functions which we also provide.

We pride ourselves on our public involvement skills.  Our staff listens carefully to agency and community comments about a project and prioritizes the types of amenities based on space and cost constraints.  In addition, with the help of our graphic artists, we can demonstrate what the finished project will look like depending on the selected options.  This aids decision makers and the public with a greater understanding of the effects of their choices.
