JMT Helps To Promote Transit Use Along I-83 Corridor
Recently, rabbittransit (also known as the York County Transportation Authority), along with the York County Chamber of Commerce, celebrated the opening of its first Hop-a-Ride lot in York, Pennsylvania.  The completion of this Hop-a-Ride lot at I-83 Exit 24 coincides with the introduction of rabbitEXPRESS, the Central Pennsylvania region’s first commuter bus service along the 25-mile corridor between York and Harrisburg.

All phases of planning, design and construction for the Hop-a-Ride lot were fast tracked by JMT to be completed in just fifteen months. Professional services included planning, traffic engineering, structural assessment of the existing buildings to be removed, landscape architecture, engineering design, surveying, and construction management services. In addition, JMT staff provided overall project management services to facilitate site acquisition and land development approval, zoning and subdivision/land development compliance, permitting, construction plans and specifications, and construction inspection services.

rabbittransit, York County’s public transportation system, provides a variety of bus, shuttle and van services to its residents.  The agency has high hopes for its new rabbitEXPRESS commuter service. JMT's new Hop-a-Ride lot is a key component that is expected to encourage transit use and help make rabbitEXPRESS a success.
