Virginia Beach, VA - Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is pleased to announce that Tim Gaffney, PE has joined JMT as Vice President in our Virginia Beach, Virginia office. Tim will lead JMT’s Federal Programs services and expand JMT’s multi-disciplined engineering services to include Federal agencies and Department of Defense (DOD) clients throughout JMT’s offices in the eastern United States. Mr. Gaffney has more than 30 years of professional experience, including more than 26 years with direct involvement in the U.S. military. He served on various bases as a Weapon Systems Officer, F-111 and Instructor Navigator. Subsequently he led Civil Engineer Squadrons at three different bases as Director of Public Works. Most recently, Mr. Gaffney served as Director of Facilities for Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) in Florida, the largest base in DOD, responsible for 3,450 facilities worth nearly $40 billion. Experienced in program management and planning, he developed a long-range bed-down plan to support the DOD’s Base Realignment and Closure Commission, including planning/programming documents to relocate U.S. Army 7th Special Forces Group from Fort Bragg to Eglin AFB. He also has managed large MILCON construction programs both overseas and in the United States. Tim holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Engineering degree from Old Dominion University. He also graduated with a Master of Strategic Studies from the Air War College. Mr. Gaffney is a Professional Engineer registered in Virginia, and he is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). |
