Virginia Beach, VA - John W. Herzke, P.E. has joined JMT as Vice President and the Office Manager for our new Virginia Beach, Virginia office. John, the former City Engineer for Virginia Beach, has over 34 years of professional engineering experience in transportation, traffic engineering, buildings, storm water, and a variety of municipal types of infrastructure projects. He will be responsible for providing JMT’s full range of planning, engineering and construction management capabilities to our clients in the Tidewater area and municipal clients throughout Virginia. In his 13-year tenure as City Engineer, Mr. Herzke was responsible for over 100 professional and technical personnel in the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department, where he supervised and directed the City’s 6-year Capital Improvement Program. Prior to that appointment, he served in progressively responsible positions including Assistant Director of Public Works and City Traffic Engineer. Mr. Herzke is a registered Professional Engineer in Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Old Dominion University. John is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Public Works Association (APWA), Virginia Section Institute of Transportation Engineers, National Professional Engineers Society, and Virginia Professional Engineers Society. For the past four years, he served on the APWA National TEA-21 Reauthorization Task Force. His leadership, local and national knowledge will be a great asset to our clients throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. |
