JMT Wins Three Maryland Quality Initiative Awards

Sparks, MD - JMT was honored with three Awards of Excellence at the recent 2007 Maryland Quality Initiative (MdQI) Conference's Annual Awards dinner.  Our I-95/I-495/I-295 interchange reconstruction project (see the hyperlinked article for more details) received two awards, for Consultant Highway Design-Large Project and for Consultant Bridge Design.  Meanwhile, the US 29/MD 198 Design/Build project, a major interchange upgrade in Montgomery County, was selected in the Highway Design-Innovative Contracting category.

The MdQI is a cooperative effort of ten sponsoring agencies:

  • Federal Highway Administration
  • Maryland State Highway Administration
  • Maryland Transportation Authority
  • American Council of Engineering Companies/Maryland
  • Maryland Highway Contractors Association
  • County Engineers Association of Maryland
  • Maryland Asphalt Association
  • Maryland Ready Mix Association
  • Maryland Aggregates Association
  • Northeast American Concrete Pavement Association

MdQI is dedicated to continuous quality improvement in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Maryland's highways.

These three awards exemplify JMT's "Success Through Excellence", which results from the application of sound engineering and business principles, commitment and dedication to provide quality services on all projects, and a willingness to partner with all stakeholders to achieve innovative solutions.
