Sparks, MD - Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT) is pleased to announce that Charlie K. Watkins has joined JMT’s Sparks, Maryland office as Senior Associate in our Construction Management Division. Mr. Watkins has more than 36 years of experience in highway construction, maintenance, utilities and traffic engineering. He will be responsible for managing JMT’s county and municipal clients for construction management and inspection services in Maryland. Charlie served as the Maryland State Highway Administration’s District Engineer for Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties for the past 10 years, having responsibility for approximately 3,000 lane miles of roadway including the Capital Beltway, Interstates I-95 and I-270, US 50, and various routes around the nation’s capital. As District Engineer, he oversaw an annual budget of $280 million, and he managed approximately 300 professionals encompassing a variety of disciplines including construction, maintenance, traffic, utilities, design, and administration. Mr. Watkins is a member of the County Engineers Association of Maryland and currently serves as First Vice President of the Maryland Association of Engineers. |
