JMT, as a Design-Build Designer for Intercounty Constructors (IC3) (Shirley Contracting Company, LLC, Clark Construction Group, LLC, Atkinson Construction Company, LLC, Facchina Construction Company, Inc., and Trumbull Corporation), is providing engineering services for bridge and structural design, water resources, ITS/ETC and lighting design for one of the largest Design-Build contracts in Maryland ($500 million). Contract C, as it is known, includes a new roadway, MD 200, to accommodate three highway lanes in each direction from west of a new US 29 Interchange to east of a new I-95 interchange. Work also includes the reconstruction and widening of US 29 from south of Briggs Chaney Road to south of Fairland Road, and the reconstruction of I-95 and the addition of collector-distributor roads from south of MD 198 to north of MD 212. JMT designed 18 bridges as part of this contract.
JMT also leads the design of the electronic toll collection (ETC) system and the traffic management system for Contract C. The systems include CCTV surveillance; Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), toll rate information signs (static panels with DMS inserts), ETC toll gantries and the communication systems required to connect the field equipment to the central operations center.
