Petra Solar Energy Feasibility Study

Location: Statewide, New Jersey Client: Petra Solar, Inc.

JMT performed a fesibility study in order to assess the potential for installation of panels along sections of New Jersey highway.

JMT provided Petra Solar with several alternatives concerning the potential for installation of solar panels along New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) right-of-way.  Our feasibility study focused on several primary areas which included:  canopy structures located in the median of interstate highways, canopy and ground-mounted structures located in large infields and along the right-of-way secondary highways, NJDOT-owned maintenance yards and office building parking areas, ballasted ground-mounted solar arrays in an NJDOT-owned landfill, and solar panels attached to overhead or cantilever sign structures and noise walls.  The study will be utilized to provide information to the local utility provider and the state Board of Public Utilities concerning the potential for solar energy installations in the public right-of-way.
