JMT provided site control and construction stakeout services for
a new 140,000 square foot Critical Care Tower located at the
University of Maryland.
JMT teamed with the Whiting Turner Company for the University of
Maryland, R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center Expansions. The new
140,000 square foot Critical Care Tower will be nine floors, and is
expected to be complete in 2013 and house 10 state-of-the-art
operating rooms, 64 private ICU rooms, a new helipad and expanded
adult and pediatric emergency departments.
JMT was tasked with setting site control both horizontally and
vertically on the Baltimore City Coordinate System, column line
layout on the ground floor and establishment of control on each of
the nine floors, benchmark establishment, monitoring of the
sheeting and shoring, curb and gutter stakeout, and miscellaneous

construction computations, and fast availability of survey
data.
