Traffic Engineering / ITS

Traffic Engineering encompasses many elements including data collection, studies and analysis, forecasting, and design of traffic control features and intelligent transportation systems. Traffic Engineering is a skilled discipline requiring knowledge of federal, state and local criteria, as well as an understanding of human factors, that is a crucial element of transportation projects.

JMT has the ability to meet the needs of various clients by designing efficient solutions for their transportation traffic engineering needs. Through our working relationships with many transportation agencies, we understand the similarities and differences between jurisdictions. This assists us in providing the safest and most cost-effective designs to each client. At JMT we have a staff of professionals that have performed studies and designed projects throughout the eastern United States for federal, state, local government and private clients. We understand how to incorporate human factors into our designs to assist motorists in making informed and safe decisions on the roadway. IDIQ Engineering Services Contract for NAVFAC Atlantic

Norfolk, Virginia

JMT supports military construction (MILCON) projects for NAVFAC Atlantic under an A-E services IDIQ contract.

South Bethany, Delaware

JMT teamed with the Center for Watershed Protection (CWP) to develop a stormwater retrofit strategy to reduce pollution in the highly urbanized Anchorage Canal Drainage Area and independently prepared design plans and construction oversight for the first two implementation projects within the watershed.

Chester County, Pennsylvania

JMT provided a full range of services to replace a landmark bridge with a new structure that met the community's expectations within a historic district.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

JMT provided land development, site and building design, and construction management and inspection for a new transit center in historic downtown Gettysburg.

Throop, Pennsylvania

JMT provided facility planning, design, and construction management / inspection services for a regional sewer authority to help it meet new Nutrient Reduction Technology regulations.

Baltimore County, Maryland

JMT led the design of improvements to several miles of I-95 as well as a complete realignment of the I-95/I-695 interchange, the first highway transportation project in Maryland to implement general purpose lanes and express toll lanes together in the same facility.
