Context Sensitive Solutions
The principles of Context Sensitive Solutions are critical to
all of our planning and design projects. To truly develop the
best solution for any project, one must understand the "Genius
Loci" or spirit of the place. Once the planner and designer
understand the physical, cultural, and historical make-up of a
particular place, alternatives to solving problems and creating
better places for people to live, work, and play have a fundamental
context within which alternative solutions can be analyzed.
JMT approaches every project with the philosophy that
transportation projects or building facilities are an integral part
of the community. As stewards of these projects and facilities, JMT
works with clients to ensure that our projects achieve the
following goals:
- the needs of all users of the facilities are addressed
- the solutions are fully accessible and address safety for all
users
- the process is collaborative and inclusive of all
stakeholders
- the needs are balanced with the environmental, aesthetic,
historical and cultural needs
- the design team utilizes a holistic multi-disciplined
approach
