Facility Assessments
Facility Assessments typically include reviewing building
functionality to determine if owner needs are being met,
reliability analysis of physical infrastructure, optimization of
infrastructure performance, guidance for maintenance and operations
and can be a great cost savings to the building's owner.
JMT has a large staff of professionals that have conducted many
such assessments for facilities throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
The sizes of such facilities range from a 3,500 square foot
building to a 1,225,000 square foot complex. Several projects
progressed from assessment, remedial recommendations through to
design. Examples include roof replacements, building insulation
upgrades, window replacements, structural steel upgrades, upgrades
to site access, foundation repairs, air handling unit replacements,
chiller and pumping system replacements, solar energy harvesting,
boiler system upgrades, and the installation of geothermal heating
and cooling systems. These experiences are in a variety of
facilities including libraries, offices, maintenance, buildings,
municipal, medical, and administrative headquarters. JMT can
identify issues of concern whether they are to the physical
structure or the way the structure is being utilized and will
identify all reasonable recommendations for resolution. Our
focus is on the most prudent means to protect and improve on the
performance of the facility. Through the diverse in house
recourses of our Facilities Management Staff supported by our
Architects, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Site Civil,
Geotechnical Engineers and Surveyors, JMT conducts Energy
Efficiency Assessments, Green Building guidelines, LEED®
analysis, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, Commissioning and
Retro-Commissioning, operational and maintenance training programs,
and life cycle replacement programs.

JMT conducted a Statement of Conditions survey at nine VISN 4
facilities to assist in the preparation for the triennial Joint
Commission accreditation surveys.
