Traffic Data Collection
Traffic data collection provides the base information required
for many aspects of transportation projects. These include planning
and design studies, traffic analysis studies, corridor studies,
signal timing studies, parking studies, pedestrian and bicycle
studies and trip generation studies.
At JMT, we collect traffic data through various methods,
including manual and video methodology for turning movement counts
at intersections, and through portable counts at various other
locations. Typical count types include volume, classification,
speed, as well as vehicle occupancy data. JMT has an
experienced staff of personnel who are familiar with methods of
obtaining the traffic data that our clients need. This allows us to
assess each project and determine what information should be
gathered, and how, to meet the study objectives. JMT has a strong
adherence to quality control to ensure that the traffic count data
is accurate.
