Travel Demand Forecasting
The development of travel demand forecasts is a vital step in
evaluating the future needs and demands of a transportation
facility such as the number of lanes, lane configurations, type of
interchange and potential for multimodal facilities and
connections. Travel demand forecasts can help in the early
identification of major cost implications and also factor into
environmental analysis.
JMT has performed travel demand forecasting for more than 20
years through both regional travel demand models and the manual
four step process. We have developed a regional forecasting model
for a four county area. Other forecasting assignments include
transportation plans, individual project forecasts for corridors
involving transit, express toll and HOV lanes, and for
environmental assessments including air and noise analysis.
Our modelers use software such as CUBE and TP+. JMT
understands the modeling process, and our staff possesses the
ability to present the information in a manner that helps our
clients to make informed decisions.
